Reed and Syma met in 2017 while working as apprentices at the Santa Fe Opera.

After their summer in Santa Fe, Reed went back to Austin and Syma went back to New York for their last year of college. Reed made the trip out to New York so they could spend their first New Year's together.

Syma finally made it out to Austin to visit Reed for the first time in April of 2018 during her Spring Break. They had a very successful trip in Austin which included introducing Syma to Reed's family for the first time.

Syma made it back to Austin for the second time in April 2018 to attend Bryce & Sydney's wedding.

After spending their 2018 summer working at different summer stocks, Reed officially moved to New York in the fall of 2018. This marked the beginning of their adventures in the northeast together which included this fun trip to a corn maze outside of the city.

Syma spent her first Christmas with the Neals in 2018 where she got to witness the making of the famous Neal Family Italian Sausage.

Reed and Syma went to their first Yankees game together in April of 2019 and ordered a ballpark classic extra long Nathan's hot dog. Nowadays, Yankee games are a favorite summer activity of Reed and Syma and they go to as many as they can.

After Reed spent the summer working at Williamstown Theatre Festival and Syma went back to Santa Fe Opera, Reed flew out to Santa Fe at the end of the summer.

Reed opened his first off-broadway show in October 2019 - Little Shop of Horrors!

Syma and Reed on a weekend trip to Cold Spring in the Hudson Valley.

On December 10, 2019, Hagrid joined Reed and Syma's family. He's now eight years old and the best first son there could ever be.

The rest of the spring and summer of 2020 happened... In the 800 square foot apartment.

To escape the city for a COVID-safe trip, Reed and Syma went to Lake Placid, NY for Reed's birthday.

Even though they couldn't go anywhere, for Halloween in 2020, Reed and Syma recreated iconic costumes from their childhood.

Since options for special date nights were limited in February 2021, Syma made Reed a special seafood "chocolate" box to enjoy at home.

One year after making the decision to pursue being a lawyer, Syma started law school.

After Broadway was closed for 18 months during COVID, Reed made his Broadway debut working the props track for Waitress.

On August 20, 2022, Bowie joined our family. He turned out to be the perfect little brother for Hagrid. We got to spend three wonderful years with our goofy, loving boy before he passed this April. He'll always hold a special place in our family.
